A teenager has denied sexually assaulting a girl when she was aged between five and seven. Chad Shipton, aged 18, of Meadow Rise, Dawlish, pleaded not guilty to three charges of sexual assault on a child and three of inciting a child to take part in sexual activity. All the offences are alleged to have been committed in 2012 to 2014 against the same complainant when she was aged between five and seven. Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, adjourned the case at Exeter Crown Court for a trial on May 15,...

An estranged husband has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his wife at her home in Exeter. David Rowe, aged 27, of Foxhayes Road, Exeter, denied a single count of wounding Megan Rowe in an alleged assault on November 11, 2016. He says an injury to her nose was accidental. Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, adjourned the case for a trial which is listed to start at Exeter Crown Court on March 22, 2017, and released Rowe on bail.

HUNDREDS have been raised to help children in Eastern Europe thanks to a concert in Sampford Peverell.A concert held at the village's Memorial Hall The Chernobyl Children's Lifeline raised £751.
