Emergency services were scrambled to Exmouth yesterday evening after two people became stuck in the mud 150metres off shore with incoming tides.
Exmouth and Teignmouth Coastguard teams along with the fire service were called to the area known as 'the duck pond' at Royal Avenue adjacent to the estuary lorry park at 6:50pm.
After 40 minutes the two people stuck in the mud were rescued from by the inshore lifeboat and coastguard.
